PATIENT SUPPORT FUND: YOUR GIFT SUPPORTS HEALING
Inova recognizes that patients and families facing financial hardship should be able to focus on their treatment and recovery without the added stress of worrying about how they’re going to cover essential costs. Through generous philanthropic efforts, such as the Hisaoka Cancer Patient Support Fund, Women in Need Fund and the Harold & Charlene Krohn Cancer Care Fund, donors like you provide essential support to ease their burden and bridge critical gaps for those with nowhere else to turn. By working closely with our team members, we ensure every family in need receives the help they need.
Because of your kindness and support:
- $200k was deployed to help patients in need with services, treatments, medical co-payments, medications, transportation, childcare, food and more
- 23 patients received critical VECTRA skin cancer screenings, regardless of their ability to pay, made possible by philanthropy
- 303 individuals had the cost of medications supported through Inova Schar Cancer’s pharmacy
- 53 patients supported via the Specialty Shop, including hair coverings and wigs, mastectomy bras, lymphedema garments and more
- A patient who had been sleeping in a shed now has a safe, stable place to stay; another family was spared eviction during treatment; and a third patient was able to keep the power on during a critical stage of care
